Info: About Us

My name is Darrell Lovitt and since childhood, I’ve had a deep passion, love and desire to create art. Growing up, my life revolved around school, art and faith. I had the privilege of winning several awards in art shows and contests, including winning my first bicycle. I knew that my destiny was to become an artist. My faith has served as a catalyst for developing my character, both in life and in art. As a Christian, I believe a calling or an invitation from God can be placed upon someone’s life to pursue different opportunities. Hence, people are uniquely designed and blessed with certain gifts, talents and abilities that allow them to fulfill their God-given destinies. My faith has driven me to ask the question, “How can I use my God-given gifts and talents to serve others?”
Motivated by my passion and faith, I chose to pursue my calling and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Eastern Kentucky University. Since that time, I’ve had the opportunity of becoming an award-winning photographer whose work has been published in a number of publications including the Boston Globe, the Lexington Herald-Leader, and the London Sentinel Echo.
Together, my lovely wife, Stephanie and I have developed, Lovitt Photography. Coupling my artistic eye with Stephanie’s creative ideas and our love for photography we have been able to connect with couples, and families on an emotional level. Our goal is to provide each and every client with ‘moments’ that are truly, inspirational. Moments filled with laughter and happiness that reflect the meaning of relationships.
While letting God hold our dreams in his hands, our art has become a continuously rewarding ministry. We want to continue to give our talents to others and also support ministries that deliver messages of faith, hope and love across the world. As the scripture states, “Two people are better off than one, for they help each other to succeed.” For the Lovitt's, it’s not only a passion to document memories but it’s also a privilege to capture special moments that change peoples lives forever. Our continual prayer is that God will use our photographs to bless the lives of people.
